Our Core Values
The principles that guide our reporting and editorial decisions.
Constitutional Fidelity
We believe the Constitution is not a living document but a timeless covenant that established limited government and enshrined individual liberties. Our reporting evaluates policies and developments through the lens of constitutional originalism.
Truth Over Narrative
We prioritize factual reporting over ideological narratives. While we approach news from a conservative perspective, we believe in honest journalism that respects our readers' intelligence and presents information without manipulation.
Free Expression
We defend the right of all Americans to speak freely without fear of censorship or cancellation. We believe the marketplace of ideas, not gatekeepers, should determine which viewpoints prevail in public discourse.
Individual Liberty
We champion the rights of individuals over collective mandates. We believe in personal responsibility, limited government intervention, and the freedom of Americans to make their own choices about their lives and livelihoods.
American Exceptionalism
We believe in the unique character and special role of the United States as a beacon of liberty. While acknowledging our nation's imperfections, we celebrate American achievements and the principles that have made our country great.
Traditional Values
We respect the Judeo-Christian principles that informed America's founding and the traditional values that have sustained our society. We believe in the importance of faith, family, and community in American life.
Our Namesake: John Paulding
Our publication is named in honor of John Paulding (1758-1818), an American patriot and Revolutionary War hero who played a crucial role in American history.
In 1780, Paulding and two fellow militiamen captured British Major John André, who was carrying papers revealing Benedict Arnold's plot to surrender West Point to the British. This act of vigilance and courage helped expose Arnold's treason and potentially saved the American Revolution.
— Attributed to John Paulding
Paulding's story reminds us of the importance of vigilance, integrity, and unwavering commitment to principles—values that guide our reporting every day. Like our namesake, we believe in standing firm for what's right, even when it isn't easy or popular.
